Ornithology (2023)

Hamish Reeves has set Charlie Parker's standard, "Ornithology" to swing at about 200 bpm. It features solis from the saxophone, trumpet, and trombone sections, as well as an improvised tenor saxophone solo (that can be played by another instrument if required) and a short piano solo. The lead trumpet range goes up to written D-sharp above the staff, however it is only for the last note and usually stops at B written above the staff. Ornithology is a standard for a reason, and is a must include in any up and coming jazz ensembles repertoire!
