BIO
Hamish Reeves (b. 2001) is an emerging composer from Sydney, Australia. In March, 2024 he moved to Provo, Utah to marry the love of his life. Between the years of 2020-2022, Hamish lived in, served, and was a missionary in various communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory, such as Darwin, Elizabeth, and various towns along the bank of the Murray River. He draws upon these experiences, the people he met, and the lessons he learnt as a diverse influence for the music he writes. He enjoys writing for a variety of ensembles of a range of sizes, as he loves to explore the tone colours and timbres that each instrument can bring. He has studied with Ursula Caporali, Aiden Rosa and Tristan Coelho. Hamish also works as a music educator, and as such has a passion for writing pedagogical music.
